Minecraft - The Other Side by JohnTuley Minecraft - The Other Side by JohnTuley
I've had this idea in my head for a while. It wasn't exactly what I had imagined in my mind but overall turned out pretty good. :D

I always have fun editing these and making them look awesome. I tried some new techniques here to make areas like the top of the mountain brighter and areas like underneath the mountain darker. This photo is made up of two separate screenshots, one from the Overworld and one from the Nether, seamlessly merged together with a layer mask, splitting them up between the portal. I managed to take both screenshots at the same exact position relative to the portal using the /tppos command within the Essentials plugin for Bukkit. That way there was no misalignment when putting the two images together. :meow:

The screenshots were taken in Minecraft 1.3.2. The seed of the world is 4079393558202846493 and the location of the mountainous region depicted on the Overworld side is x: -1097, y: 90, z: 600.

This was edited in GIMP 2.6.11 and I used a few mods to help me create this scene:

OptiFine | Increased render distance and a few other visual tweaks.

MineShot | High-resolution screenshots. (ModLoader required.)

As always, don't hesitate to express your opinion. :happybounce:

EDIT 1:

Apparently this image has been going around the internet, on Reddit, on imgur and I just encountered it on someone's Facebook page this afternoon. If you see this image somewhere, please provide a link back to me somehow!

EDIT 2:

As of August 5, 2013, I have applied a watermark to the image. This is due to my discovery of this image being uploaded to several locations throughout the internet without any credit given or link back to me.
